Call for Partycipation
In recent years, the phases of Doctoral Research have become an increasingly important research area for researcher centred social networks, including e.g. wives, girlfriends, parents, and friends. Different models have been proposed and are discussed in the literature. One prominent example is the 5 phase model proposed by Bauer el al.:
  • curiosity,
  • scepticism,
  • despair,
  • determination,
  • acceptance
This symposium addresses the issues related to modelling a doctoral researcher and reasoning about his/her motivation and goals. The symposium focuses on the challenges associated with pervasive drinking, identifies common discussion topics and eating decisions that affect most researchers and their social networks, both single and multi hop social networks.

5DR aims at gathering the principal practitioners and their experiences under one roof to discuss their findings and move the state of the art forward. As a special program highlight, two distinguished researchers from the field will provide keynote talks:

  • Prof. Dr. Kurt Rothermel, Head of the Department for Distributed Systems, Universität Stuttgart
  • Prof. Dr. Christian Becker, Head of the Chair for Information Systems II, Universität Mannheim
We look forward to continue this tradition in the future.
